ASHWAGANDHA

Ashawagandha is a revered restorative adaptogen also known in western herbalism as withania. One of the rasayana herbs in Ayurvedic medicine meaning it purportedly promotes youth and longevity. As a naturopath I use this herb to treat adrenal fatigue, general fatigue and nervous exhaustion. Withania is one of my favourite go to herbs as a prime adaptogenic tonic and helps to rejuvenate anyone that’s feeling a bit burnt out.

Ingredients:  spray free roasted almonds, cacao paste, brown rice syrup, coconut blossom sugar, cacao butter, ashwagandha (withania somnifera), tamarai, cold processed caramel extract.

I wasn't expecting the tamari in a caramel bar but it totally works, that salty-savory hit against the chewy almond butter keeps it from being too sweet. The crunchy almond pieces give it a nice texture too, and I actually felt a little calmer after eating one, though that could just be the chocolat

The ashwagandha is a nice touch, though I honestly couldn't taste it under the caramel. The toasted almond pieces give it a good crunch, but the caramel is a bit stickier than I'd like for sharing.
